Depending on the nature of work being carried out, there are Intake Zone, Conveying Zone, Melting Zone, Natural Venting Zone, Mixing Zone, Vacuum Venting Zone and Metering Zone. Different screw elements own different features in different extrusion process, we should choose and design the right screw elements based on different extrusion status in order to optimize the overall comprehensive performance in the extrusion process.
2.Types of Screw Elements
Conveying Screw Elements are used to convey materials, vent water vapor, small molecule impurities and build required amount of pressure. The melting process in a co-rotating extruder is different. The thermoplastic is subjected to intense shearing. This work in an extruder is done by Kneading Blocks.The screw design must use the highest pitch conveying elements from the main feed area all the way through to the kneading elements.Transition screw elements will be installed first on the core shaft,Half are optical holes, half are internal splines.
